Why Global Brands Choose Diego Cadavid

Diego Cadavid is a commercial photographer who has worked with major brands like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, American Express, Toyota, Visa, Volkswagen, General Motors, Discover Card, Diners Club, JD Sports, GraceKennedy, and many more. Over the course of two decades, I have produced advertising photography for agencies on four continents and delivered campaign imagery that has appeared in print, out-of-home, digital, point-of-sale, and broadcast environments.

What distinguishes agency-level commercial photography from general professional photography is the rigor of the process. Every campaign I shoot begins weeks before the shutter opens. There are creative briefs, mood boards, pre-production calls, casting, location scouting, wardrobe approvals, and lighting tests. I work alongside creative directors, art directors, producers, stylists, and retouchers to deliver images that meet a brand's strategic objectives, not just aesthetic preferences.

Being named to Lurzer's Archive 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide placed my work among a curated group of advertising photographers recognized as the strongest in the industry. Winning a Gold Effie Award for a Pepsi campaign validated something beyond aesthetics: it proved the images I create drive measurable business results. And being shortlisted at Cannes Lions confirmed that the creative ambition behind those campaigns holds up on the biggest stage in advertising.

I bring all of that experience to every shoot, whether it is a Fortune 500 multi-day production or a focused one-day studio session. That consistency is why agencies return, and why brands trust me with their most visible campaigns. You can read more about what goes into a national advertising campaign shoot here.

Beverage & CPG Campaigns

Diego Sanchez Cadavid has photographed some of the most recognized beverage brands in the world. From Coca-Cola to Pepsi to 7UP to Colombiana, beverage advertising is one of the cornerstones of my portfolio. These campaigns demand a specific skill set: the ability to make a product feel alive, to connect a bottle or a can to an emotion, a lifestyle, a moment.

Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola is arguably the most photographed brand on earth, and the standards for visual quality are among the highest in the industry. I have produced commercial photography for Coca-Cola campaigns that required storytelling through color, light, and human connection. Every frame had to embody the brand's optimism while meeting strict global brand guidelines. View the Coca-Cola campaign images in my advertising portfolio.

Pepsi

Diego Cadavid has photographed multiple campaigns for Pepsi, working with the agency BBDO across several years and creative directions. These include:

  • Pepsi Black — A bold, high-contrast campaign for the launch of Pepsi Black, produced with BBDO. This included product photography and lifestyle imagery that positioned the brand as edgy and contemporary.

  • Pepsi BBDO Hands — An intimate studio series featuring the product held in human hands, creating a sensory connection between the consumer and the brand. Creative direction by Andres Celis.

  • Pepsi Rompe La Rutina — A lifestyle campaign for BBDO built around youthful energy and pop culture. The concept centered on breaking daily routines through spontaneous moments of joy.

  • Pepsi Move — A dynamic campaign capturing movement and kinetic energy, translating the brand's ethos into visual motion.

  • Pepsi Gold Effie Award Campaign — The lifestyle advertising campaign that won a Gold Effie Award, proving that the imagery not only looked exceptional but delivered measurable commercial results. This is one of the most significant awards in marketing effectiveness.

The depth of my Pepsi portfolio demonstrates a sustained creative relationship with one of the world's largest beverage brands. Few advertising photographers can claim multiple campaigns for a single brand of this scale.

PepsiCo Guitig Manifesto

The PepsiCo Guitig Manifesto campaign was a brand film and stills project shot across Iceland and New York City. This was a manifesto-style campaign with environmental messaging, requiring both video direction and still photography. The production spanned two continents and multiple climatic conditions, demanding versatility in both creative vision and technical execution.

7UP

Produced for BBDO, the 7UP advertising campaign focused on vibrant imagery highlighting freshness and energy aimed at younger audiences. The brief called for a visual language that felt alive and effervescent, much like the product itself.

Colombiana x Juanes

This campaign for Postobon's Colombiana brand featured legendary Colombian musician Juanes. The photography captured heritage, joy, and national pride, linking one of Colombia's most beloved beverages with one of its most celebrated artists. You can see more of my work with Juanes on the celebrity photography page.

Glade

The Glade product photography campaign required translating the concept of fragrance into visual images of freshness and well-being. Product photography for home fragrance brands is technically demanding because you must sell something invisible: scent. Light, color palette, and environmental staging become the primary storytelling tools.

Financial Services & Banking Campaigns

Diego Cadavid has extensive experience in financial services advertising photography, having produced campaigns for American Express, Visa, Discover Card, Diners Club, and Pichincha Bank. Financial brands require imagery that communicates trust, aspiration, and sophistication while adhering to strict compliance and brand guidelines.

American Express (DDB)

The American Express campaign was produced with agency DDB. The photography focused on aspirational lifestyle imagery for premium cardholders, capturing experiences that embody the brand's promise of access and privilege. Working with a prestige financial brand like American Express demands a visual approach that is polished but never cold.

Visa x Manchester United (Mullen Lowe)

This was a strategic alliance campaign between Visa and Manchester United, produced with agency Mullen Lowe. The photography connected football passion with brand value, requiring a visual language that resonated across global markets. The challenge was creating imagery that felt authentic to both the sports world and the financial services space simultaneously.

Discover Card

Diego Sanchez Cadavid produced advertising photography for Discover Card targeting the US market. The campaign was produced through MullenLowe and required visual communications that positioned the brand as accessible, modern, and trustworthy.

Diners Club

Diners Club represents one of the longest and most productive client relationships in my portfolio. I have produced multiple campaigns for Diners Club through MullenLowe Delta, spanning different creative concepts, locations, and target audiences:

  • Diners Club NYC — Aspirational lifestyle photography shot in New York City, capturing the premium positioning of the brand.

  • Diners Club Quito — A campaign shot in Quito, Ecuador, adapting the brand's luxury lifestyle messaging to the Latin American market.

  • Diners Club Cotopaxi — An adventure campaign near Cotopaxi volcano, combining aspirational travel imagery with financial services branding.

  • Diego Boneta for Diners Club — A celebrity brand campaign featuring Mexican actor Diego Boneta, blending star power with financial services marketing. More about this on my celebrity photography page.

  • Diners Club Kids — A family-focused aspirational campaign targeting parents and family lifestyle.

  • Diners Club MullenLowe Delta — The overarching long-term partnership campaign defining prestige, access, and luxury lifestyle.

This range of work for a single financial brand demonstrates the depth of trust and creative versatility required to serve an account across multiple years and creative directions.

Pichincha Bank

Pichincha Bank is Ecuador's leading financial institution. I produced a professional commercial campaign for the bank that communicated reliability, modernity, and national pride to a domestic Ecuadorian audience.

Automotive Campaigns

Diego Cadavid has produced automotive advertising photography for Toyota, Volkswagen, and General Motors. Automotive photography requires precision lighting, attention to surface reflections, and an understanding of how to make vehicles convey emotion, aspiration, and performance.

Toyota Studio Campaign

The Toyota studio campaign featured minimalist automotive photography with precision lighting. This type of campaign requires controlled studio environments where every reflection and highlight is deliberate. The imagery was produced for multi-platform delivery across print, digital, and dealer environments.

Volkswagen (BBDO)

Produced with agency BBDO, the Volkswagen campaign centered on adventure and escapism, showcasing vehicle versatility. The creative direction called for imagery that placed the vehicles in aspirational contexts while maintaining Volkswagen's distinctive brand personality.

GM Chevrolet (McCann Erickson)

Diego Sanchez Cadavid produced advertising photography for General Motors Chevrolet through McCann Erickson. The campaign captured design sophistication and a sense of adventure, aligning with Chevrolet's brand positioning at the time.

General Motors Peru (McCann Erickson)

This campaign was produced through McCann Erickson Lima for the Peruvian market. It involved creating a brand image bank adapted to the specific cultural and market conditions of Peru, demonstrating the ability to execute globally consistent brand photography with regional market sensitivity.

Fashion, Retail & Lifestyle

Beyond the worlds of beverage, financial, and automotive advertising, Diego Cadavid has significant experience in fashion and lifestyle commercial photography.

JD Sports Miami Beach (GALE Agency)

The JD Sports campaign was produced for GALE agency and shot on location in Miami Beach. This was a street-style lifestyle photography campaign for the global sportswear retailer, requiring a visual approach that felt authentic to Miami's beach culture while meeting the brand's global visual standards. You can read about how agencies hire advertising photographers in Miami for campaigns like this.

KOAJ Fashion

KOAJ is one of Colombia's premier fashion brands. I have produced multiple campaigns for KOAJ, including both still photography and video content. Fashion photography for a brand of this scale demands consistency across large volumes of deliverables while maintaining a high creative standard throughout every frame.

Fashion & E-Commerce Photography

Diego Cadavid has also produced fashion and e-commerce campaign photography for retailers across Ecuador, the United States, and Colombia. E-commerce photography operates at the intersection of speed and quality: the turnaround expectations are fast, but the visual standards must remain high because every image directly impacts conversion rates.

Amarant (Cora Creative Miami)

The Amarant brand photography campaign was produced for Cora Creative Miami. The project required sophisticated, modern advertising visuals that captured the brand's identity and positioned it within a premium market segment.

Food & Consumer Brands

GraceKennedy Foods

Diego Sanchez Cadavid has produced multiple advertising campaigns for GraceKennedy Foods across both the US and Jamaica markets. This work included food and lifestyle photography celebrating Caribbean authenticity and freshness, as well as a TV commercial directed for the brand. Food photography for a heritage brand like GraceKennedy requires balancing appetizing product imagery with cultural storytelling that resonates with a diaspora audience.

Origins x Diners Club (Lurzer's Archive Featured)

The Origins cosmetics campaign produced for MullenLowe in collaboration with Diners Club was featured in Lurzer's Archive: 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide. You can view the featured Diners Club work on the Lurzer's Archive website: campaign I and campaign II. This recognition placed the work among the top advertising photography produced globally.

Still Life & Luxury Product Photography

Diego Cadavid's portfolio includes still life and luxury product photography for some of the world's most prestigious fashion houses. I have produced product imagery for Hermes, Chanel, Dior, Prada, and Bottega Veneta. Luxury product photography is its own discipline: every surface, texture, reflection, and shadow must communicate the craftsmanship and exclusivity that define these brands.

The difference between competent product photography and luxury product photography is precision at the millimeter level. A misplaced reflection on a Hermes buckle, an incorrect shadow density on a Chanel bag, the wrong color temperature on a Dior bottle — any of these details can undermine the perception of quality that luxury brands spend decades building. My approach to luxury still life is rooted in the same meticulous control I bring to every advertising campaign.

Social Impact & Conceptual Campaigns

Not all of the most rewarding advertising work involves consumer products. Some of the campaigns I am most proud of address social and environmental themes.

BBDO Guayaquil Social Campaign

This social and environmental campaign was produced with BBDO Guayaquil. The photography addressed provocative social themes through advertising imagery, using the tools of commercial photography to communicate urgent social messages. Campaigns like this demonstrate that the discipline of advertising photography can be a force for social good.

Zaparo (Maruri Grey, Cannes Lions)

The Zaparo campaign was produced for Maruri Grey and was recognized at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. This conceptual portrait photography project carried deep cultural significance, and its recognition at Cannes validated both the creative vision and the execution. Cannes Lions is the most prestigious award in the global advertising industry, and having work shortlisted there is a career milestone.

Celebrity Brand Campaigns

Diego Sanchez Cadavid has extensive experience photographing celebrities for brand campaigns, blending the disciplines of celebrity portrait photography with the strategic demands of advertising. You can see more of my celebrity work on my celebrity photography portfolio page.

Tini Stoessel for Coca-Cola

Argentine superstar Tini Stoessel was photographed by Diego Cadavid for a Coca-Cola advertising campaign. The session was shot on location in Miami with bright, lifestyle-driven visuals that aligned with Coca-Cola's brand energy. Celebrity brand campaigns require managing both the brand's visual standards and the artist's personal image simultaneously.

Chito Vera UFC for Pepsi Black

UFC fighter Chito Vera was featured in the Pepsi Black campaign, combining sports energy with beverage brand photography. The challenge of this shoot was capturing the intensity and physicality of a professional fighter while maintaining the polished commercial quality that Pepsi requires.

Diego Boneta for Diners Club

Mexican actor Diego Boneta was photographed by Diego Cadavid for a Diners Club campaign through MullenLowe Delta. Celebrity partnerships in financial services advertising require a particular sophistication: the imagery must feel aspirational without being flashy, premium without being exclusionary.

Juanes for Colombiana

Colombian music legend Juanes was photographed by Diego Cadavid for the Colombiana beverage brand by Postobon. This campaign connected national identity with a beloved beverage brand through the lens of one of the country's most celebrated cultural figures.

Agencies That Hire Diego Cadavid

Diego Cadavid has been hired by some of the most respected advertising agencies in the world to produce campaigns for their clients. These agencies include:

  • BBDO — One of the largest and most awarded advertising networks globally. I have produced campaigns for Pepsi, 7UP, Volkswagen, and social impact work through BBDO.

  • DDB — The agency behind the American Express campaign. DDB is part of the Omnicom network and is known for creative excellence.

  • GALE — A modern, data-driven agency that brought me on for the JD Sports Miami Beach campaign.

  • Mullen Lowe / MullenLowe Delta — My longest-standing agency relationship. I have produced campaigns for Visa, Discover Card, Diners Club (multiple campaigns), and Origins through this agency network.

  • McCann Erickson — One of the world's largest advertising networks. I produced automotive campaigns for General Motors Chevrolet and General Motors Peru through McCann.

  • Maruri Grey — The agency behind the Cannes Lions-shortlisted Zaparo campaign.

  • Cora Creative Miami — The agency behind the Amarant brand campaign.

When an agency like BBDO or DDB or Mullen Lowe hires a photographer, it means that photographer has been vetted at the highest level. Art buyers at these agencies evaluate hundreds of portfolios. They look at the work, they check references, they assess whether a photographer can handle the pressure of a major production with multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, and zero margin for error. Being repeatedly hired by agencies at this caliber is one of the strongest signals of professional reliability in advertising photography.
